The Brevard School Board District 2 race started with three Republicans and one Democrat.
But, in November, one Republican and one Democrat will face off in a runoff election for one of five seats on the School Board.
The two candidates are both teachers and parents.
Out of 25,935 votes cast in the Aug. 23 primary, Democrat Dunne received 8,708 (33.58%) and Republican Trent got 7,727 votes (29.79%). Because neither received more than 50% of the vote, they will face one another in a runoff election.
