Tampa, FL Today, Ruth’s List Florida President and CEO, Lucy Sedgwick, issued a major staffing announcement in anticipation of the 2022 midterm elections — Political Director Kayla vanWieringen has been promoted to Vice President of Political and Programs. Ruth’s List has also brought on Miranda Colavito as full-time Deputy Political Director, and Dallas Rawlins as Operations Coordinator.

“We’re thrilled to have Kayla take on a senior leadership role and to round out our team with this incredible talent,” said Lucy Sedgwick. “With this expansion of our team, we’re excited to move into the new year fully staffed. We’re more committed than ever to investing in women leaders who will change the political dynamic in Florida, and I could not be more excited for this team to execute our vision.”

“I am honored to be stepping into this new role with Ruth’s List at a time when our work couldn’t be more critical,” said Kayla vanWieringen. “We know how high the stakes are for women and families in Florida, and electing more pro-choice Democratic women to public office is essential to protecting our freedoms. I’m excited to be continuing this work with so many phenomenal women candidates who are truly the next generation of Democratic leadership in Florida.”

As more women are stepping up to run for public office in Florida, Ruth’s List meets a critical need by identifying candidates, training them on the nuts and bolts of campaigning, and helping them raise the money needed to win.
