Florida House Democrats’ Campaign Committee Brings on Two Veteran Operatives
Tallahassee, Florida – Incoming Florida House of Representative Minority Leaders, Representatives Bobby DuBose (Fort Lauderdale) and Evan Jenne (Dania Beach), have appointed two heavy-hitting women to key positions within Florida House Victory.
Laurie A. Watkins, formerly appointed to the Pentagon by President Obama, is the new Political Director for Florida House Victory.  Watkins was the state policy director and deputy political director for the Obama campaign team that twice won the state of Florida.
“Laurie is a battle-tested leader and we are thrilled to have such a political powerhouse lead our team. She is absolutely brilliant, unsinkable, and has a proven record of success,” said Leader-Designate Bobby Dubose.
Gretchell Trochez-Triguero joins Florida House Victory as Finance Director, charged with building the committee that will allow State House Democrats to hold onto incumbent Democratic seats, and continue to pick off seats from the GOP. Having spent the last two years as Finance Director at Ruth’s List Florida, Trochez-Triguero has helped the organization more than double in size, triple its membership, train 800 candidates and campaign staff and elect 56 Democratic Pro-Choice women up and down the ballot.
“While we are sad for our loss, we are thrilled that our partner, House Victory has selected two strong women to lead the charge of flipping the Florida House from red to blue. Congratulations to both of them and to the caucus on this victory,” Pamela Goodman, President & CEO, Ruth’s List, Florida.
“House Victory is firing on all cylinders and these experienced and deeply passionate women will build on that momentum. Watkins and Trochez-Triguero understand the challenges facing our state and they are committed to working hard to support our members and carry out our vision to victory,” said Leader-Designate Evan Jenne.
