Ruth’s List Florida seeks a Training Manager to support the mission of Ruth’s List to increase the number of pro-choice women elected at all levels of Florida government. Ruth’s List helps women run inspiring, local campaigns that WIN. We identify, recruit, train, mentor and elect pro-choice women to all levels of office in Florida. Since 2008, we have raised over $9,500,000, elected over 300 women to state and local office, and trained more than 2,700 women. But our work has only just begun.
We are seeking a Training Manager to oversee our Campaign Fellows Program from June through Election Day. The Training Manager will be responsible for training the selected Fellows through the month of June, so that they are adequately prepared to support our candidates in call-time, event planning and management, voter outreach, communication, research, volunteer management and executing days of action.
Campaign Fellows will then be assigned to our top races in Florida, starting in July, where they can help support our endorsed women candidates get over the finish line in November. Young women from across Florida will be selected, trained, and participate in every aspect of campaigning while gaining real-world experience in critical political campaign support. This program will allow us to further expand the support we provide to our endorsed pro-choice women candidates.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Conduct high-level remote fellow trainings in the month of June that will prepare our fellows for their assigned campaigns.
- In the month of June, provide 6 hours a week of instructional material that the Training Manager must curate, develop, and present.
- For the following months of July through Election Day, provide weekly check-in calls with both the fellows and the assigned candidates.
- When and if needed, provide additional Zoom trainings to the Campaign Fellows to further expand their skill set.
- Accurately track and document fellows’ hours, assignments and output. Compile data for RLF at the completion of the program.
- Commitment to stay on through election day, November 3rd.
- The Training Manager will report to the CEO and work closely with the Political Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive past candidate support in Florida and understanding of campaign operations
- Experience in Training candidates and/or Campaign Staff
- Proficient in NGP VAN and capable of training others on how to use the software system
- Deep understanding of Florida politics and landscape
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and flexible
- Commitment to supporting pro-choice women to elected office
- Comfortable with training a cohort of young people virtually
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead, manage and coach young people
- While this position is virtual, the Training Manager must live in Florida
COMPENSATION: The Training Manager will be compensated $3,400 per month, totaling $ 17,000 for the duration of the position.
