Nikki Fried Claims Victory

TAMPA, FL ( November 10, 2018)– Today  Democrat Nikki Fried claimed victory in her bid for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture becoming the first woman elected to

 this position  and ending the Republican hold of the Florida Cabinet.

Ruth’s List Florida proudly endorsed Ms. Fried soon after her filing to run for office noting her exceptional leadership and administrative skills.. Fried is a lifelong Floridian, lifelong Democrat, attorney and passionate activist.  She is a skilled and smart woman who is

 known for her ability to bring people of all parties and backgrounds together for a greater cause.

Ruth’s List announced 28 victories on Tuesday night with 19 of those wins flipping red seats to blue seats. Fried now brings those wins to 29  with 20 seats flipped.  It is the only organization in the state that recruits, trains and supports progressive women in their runs for office.

Since it began 10 years ago, Ruth’s List Florida has raised $5 million for candidates, trained over 1800 women and had a historical win of 57 progressive women this cycle.
